Cybercrime in the UK is up 65% since COVID-19 Coronavirus started – The latest figures published by the UK Government’s Office for National Statistics (ONS) last week show a jump in fraud and cybercrime rates. The period covered was between June 2019 and June 2020.
This increase has occurred mainly between April and June 2020 around the time the pandemic hit Europe. As we are still in health and economic turmoil, the statistic is likely to grow further.
