Simon started the business in August 2001 having previously worked for a number of local and national insurance brokers gaining a wealth of insurance experience and knowledge. He is still actively involved in the business (which he still has 100% ownership of) on a day to day basis and his main interests outside of work are his wife and three children, his friends, sport (following Liverpool) and travelling.

Wholesale Dept.
 

Rob joined the company in Feb 2004 from NFU Mutual where he was an underwriter. He has significant insurance experience having been in the industry for nearly 10 years, is CERT CII qualified and prides himself on the excellent service that he provides to his brokers.

Adrian joined SJL in March 2005 from Misys Insurance Management (now Open GI) where  he was a broker relations technician having also previously worked at the NFU. He has a  BSc Econ Hons degree in Business Studies from Aberystwyth University and is currently working towards professional qualifications and ACII accreditation.  He is an avid rugby player & is engaged to Kate in our renewals team.

Vicki joined the company in August 2008 and is a valued member of the wholesale team. She assists the wholesale Account Managers in their day to day duties and will often be the first point of contact with our partner brokers. In her spare time Vicki cares for her horse PJ.

Ryan joined SJL in February 2010, initially on an NVQ placement. He has recently finished this and now deals with all aspects of servicing including documentation and amendments in support of the wholesale team. In his spare time Ryan enjoys watching Spurs and socialising with friends.

Mike joined SJL in January 2011 to assist the servicing team, and is currently undertaking his business NVQ qualification. He enjoys playing guitar and football and is a keen Millwall supporter.

Ben joined SJL in December 2011 and is currently training with the wholesale team whilst working towards an NVQ qualification. He is a keen tennis, squash and hockey player as well as being an avid Leicester City fan, having supported them since a very early age.

Direct Dept.
 

Karl joined SJL in January 2008 as an account manager. Having always worked in sales and more recently management positions he quickly progressed to team leader of the newly formed Direct Sales Department. The team work closely with the British Insurance Brokers Association (BIBA) and provide solutions for commercial clients and property investors nationwide. He is currently working towards a diploma in insurance. Karl lives with his wife and 2 daughters and in his spare time plays for and captains Pershore RFC.

Adam joined the company in October 2004 whilst doing an insurance NVQ and since then he has risen through the ranks to become a senior member of the direct sales team. He works closely with the British Insurance Brokers Association (BIBA) in placing difficult risks with a variety of insurers and is also studying for his CII Insurance exams to help further his career and professional development. Adam enjoys socialising and participates in several sports including golf, tennis, skiing and football, which he plays at both 5-a-side and Sunday League level.

Tom joined SJL in March 2009 as a member of the servicing team whilst simultaneously studying for his Business Administration NVQ. Upon completion he progressed into the Direct Sales team as a Trainee Account Manager and is now the Service Assistant in that team.Tom lives in Worcester city centre and enjoys fishing and playing snooker.

Lizzie joined the company in September 2008. She supports the Account Managers in the direct sales team and will assist with the administration of individual client's policies. Lizzie is a very social and active person who attends dance classes weekly for many diverse styles of dancing.

Alex joined SJL in November 2011 and is currently undertaking a level 3 NVQ with the company. His role means he is charged with the sending out of documents, dealing with clients and insurers and assisting the senior members of the direct department in their day to day roles. He enjoys playing and watching all sports, especially hockey.

Renewals Dept. 

Kate joined SJL in September 2005 after successfully completing her degree with honours. She has worked in all departments giving her an excellent understanding of SJL’s product  range and is now the team leader of the renewals department. She is responsible for ensuring the highest possible renewal retention through thorough market analysis on a case by case basis and by providing excellent customer service throughout the renewal process. Kate is currently busy planning her and Adrian’s forthcoming wedding.

Rick initially joined SJL to help out with general administration duties whilst studying for his degree at The University of Worcester. He has steadily increased his hours alongside his  insurance knowledge and is now a member of the hard working renewals team. Rick has  a keen interest in football and is an avid follower of Bolton Wanderers.

Charlotte joined the company in October 2009 and successfully completed her NVQ whilst assisting with both renewals and servicing. She is now concentrating solely on her important role as Renewals Assistant. Charlotte lives in Pershore and enjoys shopping, street dance and socialising with friends.

Kerrie joined SJL, initially as part of the servicing team, in 2007. Kerrie has now returned  to work part time following maternity leave and when not looking after her 2 year old daughter Mia is a valued member of Kate’s renewals team

Rob joined SJL as part of the renewals team in February 2012. He has a 3 year old son who he enjoys spending time with and he also plays and watches football, getting to as many WBA games as possible. He also enjoys going to the gym and socialising with friends.

Business Development Executive
 

Phil started his career in insurance in 1992 and worked for A-Plan and Clarke Roxburgh in the 18 years before joining SJL in September 2010. He is CERT CII qualified and his role as Business Development Executive means he is charged with setting up new partnerships with brokers, introducers and affinity groups nationwide. He lives with his wife and two children, enjoys most sports and has been a Wolves season ticket holder for 15 years.
